High Mountain Guide UIAGM
Paul Verdier - 'Paulo'
UIAGM Splitboard Guide / Snowboard / Splitboard & Ski Instructor
Paulo is a French alpinist, UIAGM high mountain guide and snowboard / splitboard / ski instructor. Born in the famous spa town of Evian just down the road from us here in Chatel Paulo grew up on skis and rock-climbing in the Chablais region.
"Our go to guide for 4000m+ summits."
In his youth Paulo competed at the highest levels in ski jumping and other Nordic disciplines whilst always harbouring the dream of becoming a UIAGM guide.
His mentor during his period as an aspirant guide was none other than Rider Social guide Jean-Yves Fredriksen. Learning from one of the best in the business saw Paulo qualify with distinction in 2013 from ENSA in Chamonix ( French National Ski & Mountaineering School)
"Eiger and Matterhorn in Europe and El Capitan in Yosemite National Park."
Over the last 6 years Paulo has led Rider Social trips across the world and has become one of our best pure splitboard guides. His solid understanding of the routes and terrain best suited for splitboard touring and the ‘spirit’ of what we do has seen him become another group favourite.
Paulo regularly leads our worldwide trips with Norway and Georgia a couple of his favourite destinations. He is also our go to guide for 4000m+ summits.
During his limited time off during the winter you can find him on his Never Summer West splitboard touring in and around the Chablais Alps.
In the summer he is regularly guiding clients wanting to climb mountains such as the Eiger and Matterhorn in Europe and El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
