Splitboard Georgia 21st – 28th March 2020 3395€
In March 2020 we are embarking on a splitboard adventure to Georgia taking in some of the best unspoilt freeride terrain in Western Asia. Join us on a trip to remember discovering the big mountains of the Caucasus.
Tbilisi is a Gothic fairytale of brightly coloured castle turrets and cobble-stoned streets which contrast beautifully against the backdrop of deep valley’s & huge mountains of Georgia.
Food, art, music, culture and warm Georgian hospitality permeates this heady mix. This is a once in a lifetime cultural experience mixed up with next level splitboarding and riding in some of the biggest mountains in Europe . This is pure adventure splitboarding in the place where Europe meets Asia…..
This two stage splitboard adventure takes in the best of Gudauri and Stepantsminda. Most snowboard / splitboard trips to Georgia currently focus on the Gudauri and Svaneti regions. We are excited to invite you on an expedition with us to explore the lesser known and quieter area’s of Mount Kazbek and Mount Shani.
We will meet your flight into in the Georgian Capital Tbilisi on the early morning of Saturday 21st March and load up the ground support vehicles before heading North to Gudauri.
On arrival in Gudauri (21st March) you’ll have the opportunity ride (unguided) for most of the day using the lifts. On the 22nd, 23rd and 24th you will be led by splitboard guide Paul Verdier.
Gudauri is situated at 2000m and we will use the lift system and splitboards to bump us up to ride around 3000m+. This will give us time to acclimatise. Using ski lifts and splits we’ll be able to explore the almost limitless terrain on offer there.
After 3 comfortable nights and 3 full days of guiding splitboard touring we will head further North to the town of Stepantsminda, late afternoon of the 24th.
We will stay for 4 nights in Stepantsminda at a typical Georgian guesthouse. From here we will drive for 20 minutes each morning to the trail head of our objective summit or line for the day. We will most likely also spend 1 night (26th) at a new and very eco friendly hut situated at 3014 metres that will give us the opportunity to bag a 4000+ metre objective on the 27th. We will return to Tbilisi before mid-day on the 28th.
This is a trip for experienced splitboarders who are happy with altitude, nights spent on the mountain and who can ride all terrain in all conditions.
Expect to split at least 1000+ meters of vertical per day.

That was an awesome trip! Definitely added a few permanent clips to the memory bank. Untracked powder lines and steep couloirs. A couple of decent skin tracks back up too!
