Split and Mix 1st – 8th February 2020 1865€

This is our 8th year of running Split and Mix weeks here in Chatel, the Abondance valley and Portes Du Soleil.

We have crafted the perfect mix of splitboard touring and off-piste snowboarding into an exciting and educational week.

Our goal on a Split and Mix is to lead you over 5 days to ride the best snow in the area and help you to develop your skills and decision making processes for riding safely in the future.

Throughout the week are workshops on reading terrain for line choice, assessing snow pack stability, and how to move safely in the mountains. Sessions on using avalanche equipment and what to do in case of one also feature.

On the Sunday Monday & Tuesday you will be guided and taught splitboard technique by Rory Burton (BASI 4). On the Thursday and Friday you will be guided by Paulo Verdier (UIAGM) to take your new found skills into some amazing Chablais backcountry.

You will also have exclusive access to the full 2021 range of Never Summer UK regular snowboards to try whenever you want!

Arrive in resort on the Saturday afternoon, meet the rest of the group and settle into the chalet where we will get you kitted out with all of the equipment you’ll need for the rest of the week. Splitboard / Freeride on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Wednesday is a free day – explore the resort or take a break and recharge for the Thursday and Friday which will be big days. Saturday morning departure.

Maximum Group Size: 6

You will be happy to ride off-piste terrain ride all day on slopes of 35 degrees and more in varying conditions with just a few short breaks to eat and drink. Splitboard climbs will rarely exceed 800m vertical – this should take you around 3 hours to achieve at a slow and steady pace.

What People Say

That was an awesome trip! Definitely added a few permanent clips to the memory bank. Untracked powder lines and steep couloirs. A couple of decent skin tracks back up too!
