Splitboard Trips and Splitboard Courses

A look back at January 2024 .

Hello Everyone,

We hope you’re all looking forward to the festive holidays and the fast approaching winter of 2025.  It’s looking like a solid start to the season here in the French Northern Alps, so far.  We have another big storm coming through over the weekend and, crucially, the temps are looking to stay cold.

Fingers crossed, we could be in for a good January after a few very mediocre ones in recent years.

It only just feels like we put the splitboards away after winter 2024 and we’re now back in the middle of equipment prep, trip planning and trying hard to remember to post on social media a bit more.

So, before things get crazy again we thought we’d drop a few photo dumps from some of our splitboard trips from last winter.  These are mainly photo’s btw, there are some good videos but we keep those elsewhere on the website as Facebook keeps taking the audio down when we post them there.

We already posted about our Splitboard Chablais sessions from January 2024.  These 3-day splitboard trips are a great way to explore the local area and ride the best and safest terrain on offer.

The management of cold early winter snow (deep powder) is complicated, from a safety aspect, so the bigger mountain terrain and steeper lines are generally off limits (unless you’re a sponsored athlete with Red Bull funding and a full safety / EVAC team on hand. Or a just a bit mad).

That said, in recent winters it’s not been a massive problem here in the Alps, sadly.  But, as we said earlier we hope this January could be a much better one.  Either way, we’ll continue to deliver the best splitboarding experiences possible, whatever the conditions.

We ran two 3-day sessions last January (2024). One was a pure splitboard guiding experience for a group of experienced splitboarders and the other was an introduction to splitboarding course for a new group.

You can read more about those sessions and see the videos here
